Impact of Covid-19 on gambling behaviour - operator data from April 2021

The Gambling Commission has published further data showing how the evolving Covid-19 lockdown measures have impacted online gambling behaviour in Great Britain.

The operator data reflects the period between March 2020 and April 2021, inclusive, and covers both online and, where relevant, some offline gambling operator data, noting that land-based premises have only recently been able to open, since closing in December.

Regulatory returns questions and guidance updated

We have recently updated our guidance on regulatory returns. This guidance, integrated with a full question set for each regulatory return licence type, has been published on our new website. 

No changes have been made to the question set, but the revised guidance clarifies and makes our requirements easier to understand. Submitting regulatory returns is a licence condition for all gambling operators (Licence condition 15.3.1).

Updated CPS guidance relating to The Proceeds of Crime Act 2002

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has published revised guidance to expand the circumstances under which the prosecution of a section 330 principle offence under The Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 (PoCA) could occur.
