Can you believe it is June and we have less than 10 days left in the school year? What a year it has been! This year was unlike any other, but we accomplished so much in a time of uncertainty. We have been blessed with dedicated teachers and staff as well as generous parents. Thank you so much for everything.
I wanted to take a moment to give a quick recap of some of the highlights of the school year and how the PTA has contributed to the Border Star community in our time, efforts and financially.
· Co-led with administration TWO Schoolwide Town Hall Meetings
· Raised over $12,000 in Fundraising, i.e. Dragon Night, Restaurant Night,
Amazon, Smile, Donations, Book fair, Fall Fundraiser etc.
· Co-sponsored with LINC a drive thru Halloween Trunk or Treat
· Subsidized teacher classroom supplies for numerous classrooms
· Hosted Counselor Presentations for Parents
· Sponsored and Hosted Teacher Appreciation for 50 teachers and staff personnel
· Provided lunch for the Winter teachers’ in-service day
· Provided lunch for the Teachers’ First Day of School
· Sponsored an outdoor classroom (garden)
· Had 80 PTA Members to join
· Had an average of 30 parents in attendance per meeting
· Had approximately 25 volunteers
· Hosted a pen pal program
· Hosted a parents’ virtual happy hour
· Sponsored 6th Grade graduation (upcoming)
· Sponsored Field Day/Fun Day (upcoming)
· Sponsored Yearbooks for all students

Yearbooks are back! The PTA is donating yearbooks to every student this year!
Special thanks to Jen Miller, Dave Nelson and Jim Hutton for pulling everything together in a short amount of time. Check your child’s bookbag, the week of June 7th for their yearbook. Virtual Academy students will receive theirs in the mail.
Special thanks to the members of the 2020-2021 PTA executive board. You all are ahhhhmazing! Mr. Rhyne, Ms. Deckard and the rest of the staff and administration; the PTA greatly appreciates your support this year. We would not have made it without any of you.
