Register for the AGM on June 18th!

Please join us for the delayed 2020 AGM that will present a review of our activities this past challenging year and what is ahead for the Gibsons & District Chamber of Commerce as we move into the BC Covid Restart schedule.

Guest Speakers: Members of the Sunshine Coast COVID-19 Physician Task Force, Dr. Jennifer Baxter and Dr. Ted Krickan.
Established last March, this task force has been providing frequent communication to our community regarding Covid-19 developments on the Sunshine Coast. 

During our AGM, they will provide us with an overview of the direct impact Covid has had on the Sunshine Coast. Questions are welcome! Please send any questions you would like answered to exec@gibsonschamber.com (or reply to this email).

This meeting, delayed because of the Covid-19 Pandemic will now bring us back into compliance with Science, Innovation and Economic Development Canada that regulates our Industry Canada Board of Trade status.

Resource Guide for Small Business Resiliency

Today, the BC Chamber of Commerce launched the pan-provincial Resource Guide for Small Business Resiliency - a live resource to support businesses across the province as they navigate the COVID-19 pandemic on their road to recovery as set out in BC’s Restart Plan. 
 

Resources outlined in the guide tackle all aspects of pandemic recovery including:

• Health & Safety
• Government programming
• Sector-specific initiatives
• Legal and regulatory requirements
• How to reopen, maintain, pivot, or expand your business; and
• Additional small business tools

Letter from MP Regarding Food Waste Grant for Entrepreneurs 

To help spark new ideas and engage diverse perspectives, the Government of Canada launched the $20-million Food Waste Reduction Challenge in November 2020, calling for innovators to deliver game-changing solutions to this long-standing and complex issue.

Challenge Streams C and D are launching together, with innovators competing for monetary and non-financial prizes over the next three years.

The deadline to apply is August 31, 2021.
