Three Things I Have Learned

Today, I had the chance to share the story behind “Look at the Birds” with the Ladies Morning Circle from New Covenant Presbyterian. It was their first time regathering. It was the first time they’d have a guest speaker (me). I wasn’t certain what I’d say. I was certain I was grateful to be invited; but, I was afraid. I hadn’t spoken in public for quite some time and I’d be talking about myself not others.

The message of “Look at the Birds” is “You are loved.” A book originally written for children, over time has become clearly for me. God began to show me, this unexpected thing of becoming a children’s author is because you, more than others and most of all, need to believe you have value, that you are loved. So, I planned to share this truth and clarity with the group. I had no idea how until ten minutes before the gathering.

God often speaks to me when I’m driving. He did this morning. I pulled into a parking lot to write it down.

WHAT I AM LEARNING AS I CONTINUE AND BELIEVE

1. I can’t fully share with others what I do not fully believe.

2. I can never know everything, but I can trust that God does.

3. I am a child,  just a child in my Father’s eyes. He still clings to His idea of who He made me to be. He hasn’t forgotten.

Just wanted to record these three truths, the truths I need, the ones that compel me to be a whole lot gentler on myself. To continue.

To continue and believe.

How about you? Is there an experience you've had that taught you something unexpected from God?  Can you relate to being sure and then not so sure that God made you for a purpose? Have you wondered if there was a time all was just right with you and God and longed to return? Have you been captivated by Psalm 139 and curious over what God wrote in His book about you, His child, His daughter or son?

"Look at the Birds" brought sweet smiles today, the birds and the truths that they share. I'd love to know what you think of the book. I’ll be in Statesboro at Jaxe and Grace http://jaxeandgraceboutique.com on June 12th to share with even more children and their families. Message me soon.

I’ve added a few new paintings to my website. https://www.lisaannetindal.me

Oh, and I discovered today, I have been blogging at  https://www.quietconfidence-artandword.blog since 2014! August will be seven years and I’m just feeling like something new and good is coming from all these years of writing. I’m believing it!

Thanks for reading!
