Congratulations to Alex Ma for his beautiful Eagle Scout project in front of the church.  All those walkers that  pass by will love the bench and the Peace Pole appeals to everyone in the neighborhood with its many translations of  "May Peace Prevail on Earth."    The languages on the pole include the top six languages spoken in Bellevue (English, Spanish, Chinese, Russian, Korean and Vietnamese) as well as Japanese because of Alex's heritage and Duwamish because the church sits on their traditional lands. Alex is the son of Jamee and Gen Maand the grandson of Judy and James Jones.  Steve Pollard was instrumental in helping Alex complete his project.
Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Class
Starts June 3rd, 5:30 - 7:30 pm

Our church practices faith by serving the marginalized members of our community. But the work of justice requires our witness to many painful realities, and over time, this constant pain can result in “compassion fatigue” and disconnection. Join us for an 8-week course where we’ll build practical emotional & spiritual tools to support sustainable lifelong work for Christ’s justice. Class will be led by Brittany Ledyard and will meet for 8 weeks starting June 3rd. Click here for more info and class registration.
Neighbors Appreciate our Garden!
Last week, with chard, kale, and spinach running rampant in the garden we put an invitation out on the NextDoor App to let the neighborhood know they were welcome to come pick what they needed. 30+ comments later veggies had been picked and we received a whole pile of gratitude. Stop by and see what's ready to be picked. We've got a bumper crop of lettuce coming on!

Lectio Divina
Mondays from 4 - 5:30
Join
here. Lectio Divina is a contemplative method of reading the Bible with ‘the ear of the heart’ so as to be transformed, more than simply informed, by the text. We hope this group will help us focus on how the Bible can help to navigate this cultural moment and uplift us with needed hope in this season of upheaval.
