End-of-Year Laptop Return
All students are required to return their PowerUp laptops this year. Seniors must have their laptops turned in by June 4th, while all others need to be in by June 11th. To maintain safe levels of social distancing, students must select an appointment time. Juniors, sophomores, and freshmen interested in turning in their laptops now may do so with the understanding that once it’s turned in, we will not reissue laptops or have loaners for you to borrow for final exams. If you turn it in you will not get it back!

Students will need to ensure that their laptop and all accessories are returned:
- Laptop sleeve
- Laptop
- Make sure it’s charged as it will be inspected for damage
- Remove all stickers and tags
- wipe it down with a disinfecting wipe
- Charger (see a picture below)
- The charger must be wrapped tightly as in the picture below. Use the velcro strap to hold everything tightly in place.

Apply for second round of the Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer
The second round of applications is now open for the Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT), a one-time benefit for families who temporarily lost access to student meals during the 2020–2021 school year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The application is available online now at yourtexasbenefits.com/Learn/PEBT from June 2 through August 13, 2021.

HISD Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS)
Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS) recruits thousands of parents and community partners to donate their time, resources, and knowledge in support of the district’s primary goal to increase student achievement. Volunteers contribute in areas such as mentoring, tutoring, fundraising, career education, enrichment programs, extracurricular and community service activities, and office and classroom assistance.
After registering online and undergoing the annual background check, volunteers can work in any HISD school for the school year. All schools can track volunteer hours donated to the school district by establishing an online VIPS account.
*Parents who will work with students as a chaperone, etc. will need to register with the HISD’s Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS) program.
