CALL OUT TO ARTISTS
to exhibit with us in our
4th SALA exhibition!

Are you an artist who is interested in being in an awesome group show during SALA?

If you've been part of 6 Manton's SALA shows in the past, you'll know how much fun they are for artists and audiences alike! The images below are from the 3rd SALA show "Giddyup" opening night.

If you haven't been involved join us!
This year's theme is "Pony Up" and we are inviting past exhibitors and new friends to respond to the theme.
After a year in our trackies and uggies, it’s time to Pony Up, get back on your horse and shake up the gymkhana with works of whimsy.

For more info see here. Application details are here.

Printmaking Stuff...
Turn the page
Stone & Quoin's Damien Warman and UStPer Jan Finlayson are in a lovely exhibition, opening at Mrs Harris Shop, 5.30pm Fri 4 June 2021.
"Turn the page" is an exhibition of beautiful artist books by printmakers.
And we are so proud... some are made onsite at 6 Manton St!

Date Night
Stone & Quoiner Georgina Willoughby is curating a group show
called "
Date Night at the Wheaty",
opening at the Wheatsheaf Hotel, 6pm Wed 30 June 2021.
Amongst others, a number of Stone & Quoiners and UStPers
will be part of the show.

"Date Night at the Wheaty" is a hilarious response to the ups and downs, confusions, frustrations and occasional joys of internet dating.
Swipe right, right?

Weird Adelaide
"Weird Adelaide: a Tribute to Barbara Hanrahan"...
This beautiful exhibition has just finished,
so we've included snaps of some of the works below, in case you missed it.

The brainchild of Tracy Crisp, hatched with UStPer/Stone & Quoiner Simone Tippett, including Stone & Quoiners Damien Warman, Georgina Willoughby and Sally Heinrich - as well as many other Adelaidian printm
akers - "Weird Adelaide" celebrated all we love about Barbara Hanrahan’s writings and prints, as well as the weird wonky wonderfulness of Adelaide and SA places.
2021 is the 30th anniversary of the feisty Ms Hanrahan's death.
She lived just around the corner in Thebarton,
and she was a passionate advocate of the wonders of her local world.

"What we want now in Adelaide are writers and artists who work from the heart of those commonplace suburban streets, who recognise the weirdness of the ordinary, who record it before the version of it we have now is swept away. We want passion and intensity, an art that comes from places like Port Adelaide and Thebarton and Holden Hill; that stays unofficially weird.
Barbara Hanrahan

We are so happy that the arty folk based at 6 Manton St, who are regularly involved with 6 Manton projects, are doing great stuff with our arty NEIGHbors
at The Wheatsheaf Hotel and Mrs Harris' Shop as well.
The arty sorts that play together, stay together,
making our arts community stronger and happier.
Yay!

Year 11 Art Trip
In late May of this year, Stone & Quoin hosted Emmaus Christian College
for an afternoon of creative hijinks during their Year 11 Art Week.

Stone & Quoiners Simone Tippett, Damien Warman and Sally Heinrich
showed
students how to letterpress, illustrate and drypoint
during an afternoon of printerly fun.
All this after a morning brunch in Pony + Cole cafe
and an artist talk by Julie Pieda from Koush Design.
And all before a night of swing dancing...
Day 2 of Art Week in Adelaide.

Who needs interstate school trips
when all this is on our very own doorstep?!
