Metzger Pipeline East Contracts Awarded

We are pleased to announce that the Willamette Water Supply Program (WWSP) has selected two prime contractors for upcoming construction on the Metzger Pipeline East (MPE) Project.

Moore Excavation Group Inc. was awarded the contract for the Western Avenue Improvement Project, a City of Beaverton lead project that is combined with construction for the first phase of the MPE projects (MPE_1.1/COB_1.1). The City of Beaverton and WWSP are partnering to build water pipeline projects and road work to decrease impacts on the public and reduce costs. Phase 1 consists of 0.7-miles each of 48-inch diameter pipeline (MPE_1.1) and 16-inch diameter pipeline (COB_1.1) along Allen Boulevard, Western Avenue and a portion of Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway. Pipeline construction will include crossing a railroad and a connection to the City of Beaverton pipeline at the Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway. Construction began in May 2021 and will be complete in early 2023.

Emery & Sons Construction Group was awarded the contract for the second phase of the MPE projects (MPE_1.2/COB_1.2). Phase 2 consists of 3.3-miles of 48-inch to 24-inch diameter pipeline (MPE_1.2) and 16-inch diameter pipeline (COB_1.2) along SW Scholls Ferry Road between Allen Boulevard and Greenway Park. The construction also includes work on a portion of SW Hall Boulevard and SW Cascade Avenue. Construction will include crossing beneath two creeks, two sets of railroad tracks, and Highway 217—all using tunneling. Construction of the pipeline is anticipated to begin in June 2021 and completed mid-2023.
