Good Afternoon Students,
Thank you for utilizing The Arch feedback link to provide insight on summer-semester concerns. We continuously review your input and are working to address the following items to make the summer more enjoyable. As we work with the Student Leaders and Campus Partners on a daily basis on any concerns you raise, we will share updates regularly. We wanted to share this update, since we have had a few questions emerge this week that we have addressed below.
Academic Courses
The semester is off to a great start. If you have any questions about your courses, start with your faculty or reach out to your school, who can help address any questions within the Academic School/Department.
Auxiliary Services
We have received a few questions about Dining Services, particularly about venue Hours of Operation. More information on the hours, dining reservations (to maintain social distancing) system, the 15 meal per week plan, and flex dollars are available via the Rensselaer Dining Website. We will continue working with student leaders and campus partners to provide more flexibility to the summer schedule. Any questions beyond the dining website can be emailed to auxiliaryservices@rpi.edu.
Important Reminders
COVID-19 Testing and Required Vaccination
We are thrilled to report that there have not been any positive on-campus COVID-19 cases reported during The Arch summer semester. That’s a compliment to the commitment to the health and safety protocols of our students, staff and faculty. As a reminder, the vaccination deadline is June 7, 2021. You must have received your first dose of the vaccine by this date. If you only have one dose administered, you must follow the vaccine schedule to complete the series. Rensselaer can accommodate students who need the second dose if we have the same vaccine. Email the Student Health Center at healthcenter@rpi.edu to coordinate your final vaccine. After you have received your vaccination, remember to upload your records to the Student Health Portal.
Community Health and Safety Policies and Protocols
All students with campus access must comply with all Institute policies throughout the summer semester. We recognize that Federal and State requirements and guidelines are shifting. We will continue to monitor these changes over the course of the summer semester and will communicate any adjustments we make as we continue to place a top priority on the health and safety of our community members.
Curricular and Co-Curricular Activities
After the vaccination deadline, students will begin to see programming increase on The Arch calendar. If you have not already downloaded the Guidebook app, please visit: https://guidebook.com/g/thearchatrpi.
Yesterday was our first ‘Career drop in’ at the testing location. The CCPD team looks forward to connecting with you there, and throughout the summer, as we help prepare you for your future, particularly as you plan your away semester.
