Calling all youth boys! Join us for an afternoon of learning and competition.

Our next youth program for boys 9 – 13 will be an Islamic-themed trivia contest using Kahoot.

On the day of the event the youth should come with their full focus to learn an important Islamic lesson, answer trivia questions, have fun, and compete for prizes.

The boys who get the highest scores will win cash prizes!

Due to popular demand, Boys Fun Contest will be running bi-weekly from now on. Mark your calendars!

#6. Classical Arabic for Adults

Have you ever listened to a beautiful recitation of the Qur’an and wondered, “I wish I could understand the meaning behind those words…”

You aren’t alone. Many of us wish to develop our ability to understand classical Arabic but do not have the means to do so.

AMA is proud to present the Arabic Program. This course will give you basic foundation for understanding classical Arabic and is divided into multiple parts, beginning with Level 1 for Beginners.

This course will be taught by none other than Shaykh Munir Shalghum.

To benefit from this course you will need to:

1. Know the Arabic alphabet
2. Be committed to attending the class each and every week
3. Have a goal for wanting to understand the Qur’an without needing an English translation

You do not need to know how to speak Arabic to enroll in this course. Our teaching method will benefit you even if you cannot speak Arabic. This course is beginner-friendly.

Here is a small teaser of what you will learn from this course for Level 1:

1. Arabic sentence structure
2. Types of sentences in Arabic
3. Asking questions in different situations
4. Building vocabulary and forming sentences
5. Pointing nouns, prepositions, possessive nouns, adjectives, verb conjugations and much more

Here are the details for the upcoming Summer 2021 semester:

Date: Class begins on Monday, June 14

Time for Level 1 (Beginners): 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM each Monday & Wednesday

Location: Virtual via Zoom

Cost: $350 for the semester

#7. Energy Affordability Program

The Energy Energy Affordability Program is designed to help more Ontario residents save energy, reduce costs and stay comfortable at home. People who live in Ontario and are responsible for paying their monthly electricity bill as a homeowner or as a renter may qualify for this program.

Who is Eligible?

Eligibility for the Energy Affordability Program is based on household income or an individual’s receipt of a qualifying eligible benefit.

There are two types of support available:

• Comprehensive Support
• Energy Saving Kits

The type of support provided will depend on the household income level from the previous year and how many people live in the home, or on an individual’s receipt of a qualifying government or energy-support benefit. All of the expert advice and energy-efficiency upgrades provided at both levels are completely free of charge.

Upgrades may include

• ENERGY STAR® certified LED light bulbs
• ENERGY STAR® certified appliances
• Insulation and weatherstripping

How it works?

1. Apply online at greensaver.org/ssa or call 1-855-772-0210
2. Discuss the eligibility requirements with consultants to learn if you qualify for the program, and what are the best available energy-saving measures for your household
3. Depending on your eligibility, you may receive either an Energy Saving Kit with energy-saving measures for self-installation, or an energy expert may visit your home to see what energy-efficiency upgrades will help you most. These upgrades may be installed during or after an in-home visit
