We're pleased to offer a look at some newly-released 2018 vintage wines from Yvon Clerget.
"Few of Burgundy's young vignerons and vigneronnes have garnered more breathless critical accolades in the last eighteen months than the young and immensely personable Thibaud Clerget. This is a domaine reborn from the ashes, as Thibaud's father retired from winemaking in 2009, and the grapes were sold to Maison Henri Boillot. Clerget apprenticed, first chez Boillot in Meursault and then at Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat in Vougeot, before reviving the family domaine with the 2015 vintage. I share my colleagues' enthusiasm for the wines, with the caveat that I believe that the best is very much to come.” - William Kelley, Wine Advocate
"I absolutely adored Clerget's 2018s. I would go so far as to say that here I found some of the finest expressions of Volnay wines surfeit with purity, terroir expression, vibrant fruit and at time, quite ethereal levels of precision - remarkable given the type of growing season. Some of the cuvees are very limited in production, down to a barrel in a couple of cases, but do whatever you can to get hold of one. Who's to be against Yves Clerget's name ranking alongside the likes of Lafarge in the future. Maybe it already does." - Neil Martin, Vinous
"The reborn Domaine Y. Clerget could very well turn out to be one of the greatest recent success stories in Burgundy. Readers should do whatever they can to taste these wines. Thibaud Clerget is just 28 years old and appears to have a brilliant career in front of him. Bravo" - Antonio Galloni, Vinous
