Dear <<First Name>>, you are receiving this email because you are on our volunteers mailing list.  You can unsubscribe from this list without affecting the community updates mailing list.

It has been a long time between activities for Crace, but we are looking to get back in the swing of things in a covid-safe way.

To start with, the Crace Community has been selected to participate in Floriade 2021 by planting a local display. We pitched a design inspired by the fact that Crace never had a suburb sign, so we will be planting a garden bed with the letters “CRACE” near the public artwork on Hillcrest Street.

The project has come together very quickly, so I apologise for the late notice. We have received the bulbs on Wednesday, are expecting the Public Land Use permit today, and Events ACT would like the planting done by Monday, leaving only this weekend.

We will be holding a working bee on Saturday from 11am until 5pm at the intersection of Abena Avenue and Hillcrest Street. If you are available for any or all of this time, we would love to see you there.

Planned activities:
10:30am - CCA arrives and sets up Gazebo (shade/seats for volunteers, first aid kit) and bunting along roadside
11:00am - volunteers start arriving
* Spread initial soil to 10cm
* String out the grid/pattern (this will help guide the bulb planting to achieve our design)
* Plant bulbs
* Cover with another 10cm of soil
* Plant annuals
* Water
* Tidy site

If we feel we will not be able to finish planting the annuals by 5pm we will make a call to defer that step until Sunday.

See the Facebook event page here.

If you think you can make it at any time, please reply to this email and let me know what time and how many people will be able to help.

Thanks!
Kind regards,
David Pollard and the Crace Community Association
