Botanic Gardens’ Open Day on tomorrow!

Make friends with native wildlife, learn how to transform your household recycling into beautiful works of art for your garden and pick up some helpful tips that will make your gardens flourish.

Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens will host its fifth annual open day tomorrow (Saturday, June 5) from 9am to 1pm on the Tropical Sun Garden Lawn.

This year’s theme is “flora for fauna”, which explores the close relationship of host plants and the creatures that call them home.
What's on offer

Register your pet this month and SAVE

Pet owners who want to claim a discount on their pet registration will need to register before June 30.

Mayor Greg Williamson said the discount period had previously run until the end of July, however it made sense to bring it into line with the end of financial year for budgeting purposes.

“Pet owners will have a whole month to register their cats and dogs and claim the discount,” he said.

The amount included about $2.3 million for the Seaforth Esplanade upgrade and about $2 million for stage one of Woodlands District Park.
