Health Updates
Outdoor Mask & Attestation Changes
Governor Baker and the Department of Early Education released new guidance late last week and we wanted to give you an update on its impact at TBS. We have made two changes:
- Daily written health attestation forms are no longer needed. You are still responsible for checking your child for symptoms each day and for keeping them home if they are sick, awaiting the results of a covid test, or have been identified as a close contact to an individual with covid. Teachers will also continue to do a visual health check of each child each morning.
- Vaccinated adults (teachers and parents) may remove their masks outdoors, including at drop off and pick up. Unvaccinated adults will continue to wear masks outdoors unless distanced from others. Children and teachers will continue to wear masks indoors.
Travel for Household with All Adults Vaccinated
If all adults (and any children over age 10) in your household are vaccinated, you can be added to our approved travel list. Those on the list will no longer need to submit a travel form each time you travel out of state. If you have already submitted your vaccination record, you will be added automatically. To be added to the list, please email your vaccination record to paperwork@tbsneedham.org.
Travel for Household with Unvaccinated Adults or Unvaccinated Children Ages 10+
Complete this form before you travel out of state. TBS Travel Form. Email related paperwork to paperwork@tbsneedham.org or upload it on the form. Current travel requirements and relevant links are listed on the form.
Surveillance Screening Results
This week, we processed 173 antigen tests, a lower number than usual because our tester was out. Our screening included faculty, staff, children and family members from the Children’s Center and Mayim Tamid. All tests were negative. This low positivity rate in our TBS community and our local community is encouraging. Starting the week of June 21, we will be adding saliva based PCR surveillance testing as part of a statewide program funded by the Department of Early Education. Details will follow for those enrolled this summer.
