Ruth told me the other day, "Mom, I wish Annalee was part of our family." (Annalee is a five-year-old girl who has become such a dear friend to our daughters here in Tennessee.) "If she was in our family, I could talk to her everyday."
"Well, Ruth," I said, "when you and Annalee ask Jesus into your hearts to forgive your sins, you'll both be part of the family of God. You will be in the same big family with everyone else who follows Jesus."
"What?! Really?! That's so cool!" was her enthusiastic response.

It is totally cool. It's amazing that God calls people to Himself from all corners of the globe to be part of His family. We're just one little piece of that, and we have family members everywhere we go. From Alaska to Oregon to Tennessee, we've been so blessed by the family of God over the last year.
Side note: it's hard to believe it's already been a year since Allen and I packed up our Jeep and a small U-Haul and drove out of Alaska. Life isn't exactly what we thought it would be, but it's pretty great anyway.
Some more highlights and notes are below. Thanks for walking through this journey with us!

Colossians 1.3-6
"We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all God’s people—the faith and love that spring from the hope stored up for you in heaven and about which you have already heard in the true message of the gospel that has come to you. In the same way, the gospel is bearing fruit and growing throughout the whole world—just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and truly understood God’s grace"
