Seeking the Kingdom

What does it mean to seek first the kingdom? First, we’ve got to ask the question “what is the Kingdom of God?” When Jesus spoke to the kingdom, He said that His kingdom was not of this world. I wonder what would happen if the first thing that we did every day was set our mind on things above and truly see what was happening in the unseen realm. I want to seek to live and have access to the Kingdom of God and taste of the powers of the age to come now (Hebrews 6:5). Could seeking the Kingdom of God also mean that we are to yield our spirits to discern what the father is doing in heaven? How different would it be if every day, we live day by day, as if our spirit man had access to what was happening in the invisible realm, and we would see that and pray Your kingdom come.
When I think about seeking the Kingdom of God, I think about entrance and what it really means to live in kingdom realities with kingdom signs. Now by definition, seeking means in order to find, to aim at or strive after. It also means to look for, go after, to search for. Below are a couple of thoughts and practical steps on how we can seek the Kingdom of God first every day.
In order to understand how to seek first the Kingdom of God, we must know the King. Jesus is the Kingdom personified. The kingdom of God came to us through the Son of God. God’s redemptive rule and reign sent King Jesus as a ransom for many.
1. Looking with heavens eternal perspective instead of our own. We must set our minds on things above (Colossians 3:1).
2. Seeking access to heavenly places and experiencing the Lord.
3. Prayer and communion!
1 Thessalonians 5:17 - Paul challenges us to pray continually, without ceasing, always.
4. The word of God!
We must remember to meditate on His word day and night so we can prosper (Psalms 1).
His Word is a light unto our path and lamp for our feet according to Psalm 119:105.
5. Worship!
When we worship in spirit and truth, God will inhabit our praise. He will always manifest when we worship from the spirit and in truth!
