ORA ET LABORA - PRAY & WORK WEEKEND
St. John the Baptist Retreat Center in New Baltimore, PA
June 11-13 at 10:00 a.m.

Join St. Jude Parish Young Adults and the Capuchin Franciscans for our first "pray & work weekend." We'll be heading out to St. John the Baptist Retreat Center in New Baltimore, PA, roughly 1 hour and 40 minutes from Pittsburgh. This "semi-retreat" will consist of opportunities for Mass, prayer, and solitude; an outdoor work day on Saturday to support the retreat center; and evening festivities around the bonfire.

If you are unable to make it for the whole weekend, it is also possible to join only for Saturday. Registration is $50 ($30 if you only come on Saturday) to defray food expenses. For more info, check out the Facebook event or contact youngadults@saintjudepgh.org.

SMALL GROUP SUMMER BOOK CLUB
Tuesdays at 7 p.m. starting July 6 | Sacred Heart

Join us for a small group summer reading discussion! We're reading the popular book He Leadeth Me by Fr. Walter Ciszek, SJ. To better accommodate busy summer schedules, there will be the only topic and  one meeting time for the group. We will break into smaller discussion groups each evening. Plan to join us for a special celebration of the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ. Sunday, June 6, all are invited to join in a Corpus Christi Procession. At the conclusion of the 11:30 Mass, the Blessed Sacrament will be carried in procession outside and around Sacred Heart Church returning into the Blessed Sacrament Chapel for Adoration and Benediction.

A special Corpus Christi service of Exposition and Benediction will be held on the porch of the rectory at St. Raphael's at 2:00.

Allegheny Catholic Theater at St. Jude Parish

St. Jude Parish is exploring the creation of a theatre organization. With a fully equipped stage in Sacred Heart’s Auditorium, the parish has a unique opportunity to house performances with minimal investment. As vaccinations become more common, we aim to create live experiences for both the Parish and Pittsburgh community. Live performance also requires a certain special ingredient for it to work: people! If you’re interested in being an actor, costumer, stagehand (i.e., lighting, set design, audio, etc.), director, a playscript screener, or any other theatre role please get in touch!
