Research Highlight | TRANSNET members have successfully demonstrated the abstraction of an installed optical network, an approach that could transform how networks are intelligently controlled and managed in the future. The research, published in Scientific Reports, was led Dr David Ives and Professor Seb Savory from our Cambridge site, along with members of our UCL team, and in collaboration with colleagues from the University of Bristol and KDDI Research.

Research Highlight | By combining pilot-aided digital signal processing with high-order geometric constellation shaping, TRANSNET members from our UCL site, together with Dr Yuta Wakayama from KDDI Research, have reported the highest achievable information rate to date of any standard intradyne transmission system.
