Vacancy Data Manager ODISSEI Coordination Team

ODISSEI is looking for a Data Manager to support ODISSEI users (researchers and data providers) to make their research results FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable). You will have regular contact with users and contribute to the implementation of the ODISSEI User Policy. As it is a new position, you will have a lot of freedom to shape the way you execute the responsibilities. The application deadline is 22 June.

Vacancy Assistant Professor Social Data Science in ODISSEI’s SoDa Team

ODISSEI’s Social Data Science (SoDa)Team is looking for an Assistant Professor at Utrecht University. You will give advice to social scientists at Dutch Universities in the field of data science, machine learning and computational social science. As part of the SoDa Team, you will work with sociologists, economists, psychologists and other social scientists. Teaching is part of the appointment. The application deadline is 28 June.

ODISSEI eScience call and LISS call

ODISSEI currently has two calls open. The eScience call is for social scientists who want to use digital technologies in their research and need help applying these. The complete call text is now online. The deadline is 30 July at 14:00 CE(S)T. On 10 June, from 14:00-16:00 CE(S)T, there is an information event that you are welcome to join.

The LISS call offers researchers free LISS panel time. There is also space for a project that combines the LISS panel data with CBS microdata. The deadline is on 23 September.

Data Drop-in by the SoDa Team

From June onwards, ODISSEI’s Social Data Science (SoDa) Team hosts a monthly Data Drop-in. These informal question sessions are a great opportunity for researchers to ask all their data-related questions that may come up in research projects. Questions can be submitted in advance through soda@odissei-data.nl, or asked directly during the Data Drop-in. The first session takes place online on 22 June from 15:00 to 16:00 CE(S)T.

SHARE-Netherlands User Conference

Register now for the SHARE-Netherlands User Conference taking place on 25 June from 10:00 to 14:00 CE(S)T. This conference brings together users of SHARE (Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe) from a variety of disciplines to share and discuss research projects in the Netherlands. The programme includes a presentation on the data and first results of the SHARE Corona Survey.

PDI-SSH Call Digital Infrastructure

The deadline for the PDI-SSH Call Digital Infrastructure is 30 June. Researchers can submit a proposal to strengthen existing initiatives or develop new initiatives. Applicants are encouraged to collaborate with one of the existing SSH infrastructures (ODISSEI, Clariah and Health-RI).

The Netherlands eScience Center has a vacancy for a Team Manager, SSH. The Team Manager is responsible for the line management of the SSH section of the eScience Center and the representation of the eScience Center to the SSH community and beyond. The application deadline is 18 June.

ESRA Conference

In July, the European Survey Research Association (ESRA) conference takes place. The ninth conference will be held online on the Fridays of that month. The programme has been published and registration is now open. The conference gives special attention to conducting survey research during the COVID-19 pandemic.
