Highlights from the Truban Archives
This undated photograph shows the Pearl White Theater on Main Street in Edinburg Virginia. The theater was named for “Pearl White,” the title character in a popular 1914 movie series.
It was a popular business in Edinburg, being the town’s primary entertainment venue whose shows were widely attended by local residents.
By 1932 it added a sound system allowing it to show new “talkies.” Later it became the Valley Theater, part of a series of local theaters owned by the Dalke Family. It closed sometime in the mid-20th century and was remodeled to hold People’s Drug Store, now Murray’s Fly Shop.
