Upcoming Interactive Reports

CIVHC is preparing to release new interactive reports allowing users to gain new insights into the Low Value Care in Colorado Report as well as the analysis of CO Prescription Drug Spending and the Impact of Drug Rebates.

Data to Drive Decisions Webinar Series
In May, CIVHC launched Data to Drive Decisions, a series of presentations featuring actionable and relatable data and analytics, designed to show state agencies and policy makers the resources available to help them spur transformation and improve the lives of all Coloradans. A recording of the first webinar, CO APCD Insights Dashboard, Race/Ethnicity, & Socioeconomic Data - Current and Future Capabilities, is available here.

The second webinar is 12pm-1pm MT on Thursday, June 17th and will feature Resources to Chart COVID’s Impact in Colorado. Click here for more information and to register.

CO APCD Data Quality
The CO APCD Data Warehouse was refreshed mid-May per the bi-monthly schedule. This refresh includes claims paid through 2/2021 for most lines of business. The breakdown of dates by business line is available here.

The Runout Report for the May refresh is now available for download and provides important information regarding the length of time between the service date and paid date (‘claims lag’) for medical and pharmacy claims in the CO APCD.This analysis helps answer several key questions including how long it takes to achieve “completeness,” how lag time varies by payer type (commercial, Medicaid, etc), and by claim type (medical, pharmacy, inpatient, outpatient, etc).

We believe that data moves at the speed of trust and not only do we have to be good stewards of the data, but we must continually cultivate and build trust in our work with the partners and stakeholders we support. We intend to foster trust in CIVHC and the capabilities of the CO APCD by providing updates on timelines for new analytics, describing any new data discoveries we’ve uncovered, and sharing updates on our process to continually improve the overall quality of the data.
If you wish to be removed from this list or have others in your organization that would like to receive these updates, please contact Stephanie Spriggs at sspriggs@civhc.org.
