Oooh, what a glorious week this has been. On Monday evening, we experienced the most glorious golden hour – pink clouds, pink light, iridescent greens. EXACTLY the kind of weather I had in mind when we dreamed of moving to this part of England. If you made my Camping in Cornwall Rug, you may remember me waxing lyrical about this light.
In crochet news:
( I have saved the best for last and the very best for Sunday!)
- To celebrate my upcoming 40th, I’ve created a 40% off coupon code on Ravelry when you buy 2 or more of my patterns (valid until the 20th of June 2021). Please keep in mind, though, that the majority of those patterns are available for free on my website. The paid versions are edited, ad-free PDFs (US terminology).
You can find my paid patterns HERE on Ravelry. The coupon code is: DU40. Remember to add it before checking out!
- I’ve released the pattern for my Fruity Puzzle Balls (as featured in Issue 103 of Inside Crochet) and you can now find that on my blog HERE (Free) and on Ravelry HERE (Paid PDF). In that (very chatty) post, I share some more about why I’m doing a pattern sale, and how I’m going to be spending the money. It’s long, so grab a coffee!
- I’ve updated the pattern for Granny’s Pansy. I have SUCH big plans for these little flowers! It was surprisingly fun making a few in fine yarn, but I realised how clumsy I am with super small hooks. How do people crochet with sewing thread???
- (YAY!!!) I have released the colourway information for Sophie’s Spring Dream and Sophie’s Autumn Dream. This concludes the Sophie’s Dream Quartet and the wonderful journey Jenny took us on while she was making them. Thank you, my dear Jenny!
You can find yarn packs for those in my Wool Warehouse Shop, along with a fresh batch of yarn packs for Charlotte's Dream (finally!!!).
Bonus
In addition to that, I have also released a (very extensive) Paid PDF version of the Sophie's Dream pattern. It is something I have wanted to do for a while. The pattern is free online, but with the different colourways referring to the original colourway, which in turn refers to Parts 1-4 of Sophie's Universe, it has proven frustrating for many people to navigate.
The PDF includes the first 4 parts of Sophie’s Universe (written-only) so all the instructions are in one place. It also includes round-by-round charts (exclusive to the PDF) by the very talented Masako Kawahara, and photos to help you with layout and joining.
Instructions are provided for all four colourways, making this a mammoth document (I don’t want to say how many pages). Please note that the PDF doesn’t feature step-by-step photos of Sophie because that would have made it a VERY long document. You can, however, refer to the free photo tutorials and video tutorials online should you need that assistance.
You can find the PDF HERE (well done, ME!)
May someone show you an unexpected kindness today, just as I was shown one!
