Amazing Week of Action!
Read all about it!
It has been a whirlwind week of action for #TeamBlyth juniors. Things kicked off on wednesday evening at Monkton for the 3rd North East Grand Prix of the season, which took place in cloudy and cool conditions. (Photos thanks to Karen Harland and Ross Pichler)

The evening started with a bang as Abigail Huntly produced a superb attacking run in the 70m hurdles to record a time of 12.06s, a huge improvement on her PB. In the 100m Oscar set a new PB of 16.95s, whilst Caitlin was just outside her best on this occasion despite a strong run. In the same heat, Senna ran with a smile on her face and was rewarded with a new PB of 14.11s for 2nd place. Millie Wilkinson was in good form, as she set a new personal best of 12.81s in her heat, making her only the 2nd Blyth female of any age to break the 13 second barrier.

There was more success in the Mile, with Freya (5:52.46), Frankie (5:59.38), George (6:01.10) all setting personal bests in their heat, and showing excellent race-craft. Lauren Creaby ran later in the evening, and continued her record breaking form as she set an outright club record with 5:26.15.

In the field, there was success in the shot put for Senna and Oscar, with both setting brand new PB's and finishing with deserved smiles on their faces. The high jump produced great excitement. Abigail was 1st U13 despite not being happy with her performance (1.20m). Hannah Wilson produced an excellent seasons best of 1.45m as she continues to build. Koffi equalled his seasons best with another 1.79 performance for overall 1st place. Starring, however, was Luke Pichler as he set a 16cm PB to record a height of 1.71m to finish first U15

In the long jump, Sadie was first U15 with 4.57m, and will have learned a lot from the competition. Luke, fresh from his high jump exploits was not able to jump to his best, but was still first in age group. It was great to see Matthew Fairhurst back from uni and in action. He competed in the shot and javelin, and in the latter produced a throw of 39.57m which was furthest of all on the day.
On Saturday, Josh Fiddaman raced over 800m at the BMC PB Classic in Milton Keynes. Josh produced a fine run, setting a brand new PB and outright club record of 1:53.50 as he continue to set a fantastic example. Also on Saturday, Lauren Creaby took part in the club South Beach 5k. Lauren recorded a time of 21:08 to smash her own female course record by 11 seconds. Great work Lauren!
The week finished in style this afternoon at a very warm Middlesbrough Sports Villiage and the Northern Senior League fixture. Blyth are in a composite team with Wallsend in the top division, with our juniors U17+ able to compete. The long jump started the day, with Millie Train producing a massive new PB of 4.50m as she showed great development and attention to technical details. Alfie Ward was in fine form, and made the most of the great conditions as he leapt to a new PB and U20 club record of 6.64m. Later on Alfie produced his 2nd best ever HJ performance with 1.70m, and a solid Javelin of 36.03m. Koffi produced his best high jump performance of the season, taking the win and a new club record and PB of 1.85m as he continued to build his summer. Millie worked through some run up issues to record a creditable 1.40m in the high jump, a seasons best, having set a new 100m PB of 13.7s not long before.

Chloe led by example all day in the 100m, 200m and 400m, setting PB's of  13.8 and 62.7 in the 100m and 400m
.
