Dear Neighbor,

I hope you are doing well. Here are a few updates from the county and town.

COVID-19 Update

Last week, the Bay Area Health Officers representing the counties of Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Monterey, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Sonoma, and the city of Berkeley announced support for the opening of California schools for full time in-person instruction for all grades in the fall of 2021.

"Students, parents, teachers, coaches – and their families – deserve our thanks for the considerable sacrifices they have made," said Dr. Scott Morrow, San Mateo County Health Officer. "It’s time to move past the remote-learning model and back to the full range of learning and support that our educational communities provide." More information on this announcement can be found here

As a reminder, the governor has announced plans to end the tier system on June 15 and fully reopen California’s economy, as long as vaccine supply remains sufficient to meet demand and hospitalization rates are stable and low.

Woodside Community Foundation Survey

For nearly 70 years, the Woodside Community Foundation has funded dozens of projects to help make our Town an even better place to live. Now they are wondering where to direct their efforts in the coming years.

They are eager to hear what you think of some possible projects and welcome your ideas for other areas of focus. Take their quick, 5 minute, survey here.

Shred-It Day

The Woodside Community Foundation is sponsoring a paper shredding event on July 31 from 8am to 11am at Town Hall, free to Woodside residents. Shredding will be done on site and there is a 3 box max per car. Attached is a flyer for the event.

ASRB Vacancy

The town currently has a vacancy for an Architectural and Site Review Board member. The ASRB reviews and makes recommendations to the Planning Director regarding community character, site planning, building design and landscape elements on residential and commercial applications. Interested Woodside residents are encouraged to apply.

During COVID-19, the ASRB meets virtually on the first and third Monday of the month at 4:30 p.m.

Interested residents may request information and applications from the Town Clerk, Jennifer Li, at jli@woodsidetown.org. More information can be found here.

Applications are due Friday, July 2, 2021, by 5:00 p.m.

Town Council Meeting

The Town Council will meet virtually on Tuesday (6/8/21). The full agenda can be found here.  Among other topics, the Town Council will consider:
  • whether or not to approve a special municipal election to be held in September 2021 for the "Measure W" Initiative;
  • the presentation of the 2021-23 Proposed Budget; and
  • and a housing element status update.
