CHILD TAX CREDIT PAYMENTS - JULY 15

There have been important changes to the Child Tax Credit (CTC) that will help many families receive advance payments starting this summer. The IRS is working diligently on administering this program and is offering guidance on how to make sure every family with eligible children gets their payments.

The FEC, Legal Services of Northern Virginia and Low Income Tax Clinic have partnered to provide information to our clients about the CTC payments: Join us for a virtual information session about the CTC on Wednesday, July 14 at 6 PM. You will have access to professionals to receive information and to ask questions. Please see the flyer below for more information and to register.

EVICTION MORATORIUM EXTENDED UNTIL JULY 31, 2021

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) director has signed an extension to the eviction moratorium. This will prevent the eviction of tenants who are unable to make rental payments. The moratorium that was scheduled to expire on June 30, 2021, is now extended through July 31, 2021. If you or know someone who is struggling to pay their rent or mortgage due to the pandemic, please pass on these resources.
