Thanks to two federal grants 'Category 5: Statewide and Regional Mentoring Initiative for Youth Impacted by Opioids and Drug Addiction and 'Opioid Affected Youth Initiative' (OAYI) from the US Department of Justice (DoJ) / Office of Justice Programs (OJP) / Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP), ROADRECOVERY continues our weekly VIRTUALTRAX Program 5 days a week to give our amazing youth A VOICE TO BE HEARD. ROADRECOVERY provides youth mentoring and peer support in continuous after school program cycles to reach teens across the entire State of New York by engaging Youth Clubhouses in our ongoing program partnership with the NYS Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS).
This week ROADRECOVERY presented the VIRTUALTRAX Spring Finale Video including 7 Youth Clubhouses supported by the 'Category 5' OJJDP grant. In this video finale, we talk about courage, the courage it takes to stand up, take responsibility and be a leader. Travel with ROADRECOVERY across New York State, from Massena to Elmira to Amsterdam to Catskill/Hudson to Queens to the Bronx, to watch this collection of youth-generated creative works (music, art, dance and spoken word) thanks to the support of our non-profit's creative staff mentors from the entertainment industry working closely with statewide Youth Clubhouse mentors operating safely on-site or virtually with at-risk youth. As always in our programs, no previous musical/creative ability is required to engage VIRTUALTRAX.
