Dear <<First Name>>,

Around the globe, we are seeing a rise of state repression, police violence, and fascist leadership deepening the inequities facing Black, Indigenous, oppressed caste, religious minority, and poor communities. As a group of funders and organizers, we invite you to a Global Solidarity Series (June 29 to July 21) on what funders can do to be in solidarity with historically marginalized communities. In four conversations, we focus on movements on the frontlines in Brazil, Colombia, Palestine, India, and Burma/Myanmar. We are clear: our struggles are global and connected.

Funders committed to addressing structural inequities and to standing in solidarity with oppressed people in the Global South must do our part. This powerful series aims to support our shared understanding of the immense challenges facing social movements led by historically oppressed communities and to point a path to support them.

The series is hosted in partnership with Urgent Action Fund, Children's Rights Innovation Fund, Funders For Justice, Foundation for a Just Society, Human Rights Funders Network, Black Harvest, Movement Voter Project, Resource Generation, The Solidaire Network, and EDGE Funders Alliance.

We are thrilled to announce that Ana María Enriquez, HRFN’s Executive Director, has been awarded the 2021 New Executives Fund by the Open Society Foundations. Ana María, along with 13 inspiring executive directors, will be supported in making their transformative visions into realities. This opportunity comes in recognition of HRFN’s vision of open philanthropy for human rights movements and Ana Maria’s lifelong commitment to racial justice, feminist social change, and all forms of liberation.

A special shoutout to feminist co-conspirators, Sofia Arroyo Martin Del Campo from the EDGE Funders Alliance and Shereen Essof from JASS (Just Associates), who are part of the 2021 New Executives Fund cohort.
