Dear Parents,

Now that we are able to travel, summer is the perfect time to explore. Here are some local educational spots that our young scribes love to write about.

  1. Exploratorium - Packed with educational exhibits and exciting science-related activities, this hands-on museum is a must-visit for curious learners.

  2. California Academy of Science - With a planetarium, butterfly exhibit, and an earthquake simulator, Cal Academy will not only educate but also entertain your kids.

  3. Legion of Honor - For art lovers, this San Francisco museum features masterpiece paintings and sculptures that will spur any child’s imagination. Have your kids bring their pencils and sketchbooks!

  4. Filoli - If your family loves nature, this sprawling garden and mansion is the perfect spot for your kids to hang out and simply smell the roses. Bring a camera and capture the flowers and fruits in full bloom.

  5. Fitzgerald Marine Reserve - Located near Half Moon Bay, these tide pools offer an amazing glimpse of marine life. Children can hold crabs, tickle starfish, find eels, and spot darting fish.

    And our personal favorite...

Glass Beach - In the tiny town of Fort Bragg near Mendocino is a beautiful beach with glass pebbles on the sand! Your kids can spend hours marveling at these smooth and colorful wonders.

We look forward to reading about your kids' escapades.

Happy travels!
