State Government Opposition Leader announces an intention for a $20m Loans Fund.
QSEC President Richard Warner welcomed the news last week from Opposition Leader Mr. David Crisafulli that the LNP intends to create a $20M loans fund should they be successful at the next election. Over the last few years, QSEC has worked with social enterprise leaders to craft a vision to help build the Queensland social enterprise sector. The social enterprise sector identified six main pillars necessary for social enterprise sector growth:

  1. Access to affordable space
  2. Social Procurement
  3. Innovative Funding for job creation
  4. Social Enterprise Grants
  5. Ecosystem support (capacity building)
  6. Advocacy and  Representation

This recent announcement by the Opposition aligns with the third pillar for support for social enterprise.
We would welcome the opportunity to work with policymakers and funding bodies across all government departments to ensure sector growth is fully represented.
