Romans 8:1
"So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus."

It is the most freeing day when we begin to realize the shame and guilt of sin no longer weigh us down. There is a difference between the conviction of the Holy Spirit and the condemning of the evil one. The difference is conviction leads us to repentance while condemnation leaves us covered in the filth and shame of sin. Condemnation will attempt to tie your identity to your sin. It will sound like, "this is who you are; you can never change." Conviction sounds like "this is a sin, but the Christ paid that price given this turn away from sin." Songs help us recall the greatness of the Gospel and help us put words to the freedom we have experienced. Here are the songs that will help us do that this coming Sunday. We cannot wait.

In the heart of every person is a deep-rooted question: “Who am I, and how do I fit into the world around me?” In other words, what makes me “me”? Am I the roles that I play (friend, sibling, athlete)? Am I a set of characteristics (quiet, bubbly, confident)? Am I my thoughts, emotions, body, soul, actions...a summation of these things? This free parent guide from axis.org helps parents understand where this generation of teenagers gets their identity from and how to walk them through developing their identity from who they are in Christ. I’m praying for you this week! Please reach out if you need anything. — Pastor Jonathan

Happy Thursday Friends!

This week in children’s worship we are concluding our current series with a message for the boys and girls called “Don’t Quit”. All of us have times in our lives when we get discouraged and feel like we can’t do everything that we are supposed to do. When we try to do too much we often feel like we can’t do anything with excellence. I often find myself in this position and it is tempting to want to give up. I would encourage us this week to NOT give up, but to keep going and to keep persevering in these days. Let’s plan to seek God each day for what His plan is for us – and He will guide and direct our steps. A Bible verse that sticks out to help us is Galatians 6:9 “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Please let me know if there is anything I can help with in these days! — Pastor Dave
