Empty Faith

1 John 5:20
We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true—even in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

I believe that Jesus was conceived supernaturally by the Holy Spirit and born to Mary in a stable in Bethlehem. He grew to adulthood in Nazareth and ministered publicly for about three years. His teaching threatened the religious establishment, and they orchestrated His arrest with the help of the Roman government. He died on a Roman cross outside Jerusalem’s walls, and His friends buried Him in a borrowed tomb. After three days God said, “Enough!” and rolled the stone away. Jesus walked out alive and ascended to Heaven after forty days. He will return to earth one day to judge the living and the dead. If I believe all those things but fail to implement what Jesus taught about loving my neighbor and using my time and resources to serve Him, my faith is empty. Don’t let your knowledge of Jesus be just an exercise in memorizing facts. Let Him change your heart. Let Him be Lord of your life.

THINK ABOUT IT
Is your knowledge of Jesus mainly about historical facts? Or have you allowed His example and His power to transform your life?

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, knowing You and being known by You has changed my life. I know You are at work in me both to will and to work according to Your good purposes. Help me walk in those good works that You have prepared in advance for me to walk in. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Blessings,
