RASASC Chair, Dr. Fiona Vera-Gray says: "We are delighted to have secured the appointment of someone as talented and driven as Sharon. We are excited about her vision for RASASC and her dedication to working with us all to end sexual violence. Ways to Support Survivors in your Life
Surviving sexual violence can be lonely and isolating, and when a survivor has the courage to reach out to someone they trust for support, it is a huge step.

We know that many people are already supporting survivors and that often someone will speak to a friend or family member for that initial support. We wanted to reach out, in solidarity and to share some examples of things you can do to support the survivors in your life.

We hope they are helpful – both to you and to the person you are supporting.

Thank you to all the National Helpline Volunteers!
Volunteers' week is a time to say thanks for the contribution millions of people make across the UK through volunteering. This year it took place from the 1st to 7th June, and we want to re-share our heartfelt thanks to the lovely helpline volunteers whose passion, dedication and empathy keeps the national Rape Crisis helpline open every day of the year.

Survivors find many ways to cope, survive, resist, and heal in the aftermath of sexual violence – writing is often one of these.

'My Story, My Words: A Practical Guide to Creative Writing for Survivors of Sexual Abuse and Violence' was created by Clare Shaw and supported by Winnie Li, and includes exercises and resources to help people who have survived sexual violence to write about their lives and their stories.
