Summer Bag Lunches

Summer bag lunches start on Monday. If you can't remember what you signed up for, search your email for the confirmation email you received when you registered. The subject is Summer Lunches and the sender is Google Forms. Mark your calendar so you know what your chose! If you have not yet signed up, you can still join in here; please allow us at least two days notice to place the order.

Drop Off

Thank you for your help and patience in making our drop off line run smoothly! It was a great first week as new families learned the routines. A few ways you can help us:
  • Before you leave home, give any extra goodbye hugs and kisses.
  • Talk through the routine with your babysitter, nanny, grandparent and others who drop off or pick up your child so they know what to expect.
  • School begins at 8:30am and our typical drop off window is from 8:30-8:45am. In order to prevent cars from backing up onto Webster Street, we are allowing you to arrive up to 15 minutes early. If you would like to drop off before 8:15am, please ask us to see if there is space in our early morning program; do not arrive before 8:15am to wait in the drop off line as it can block the early morning families. If you have an occasional doctor appointment or other event that causes you to need to drop off later, please message your child's teacher on Brightwheel to make arrangements.
  • Pull all the way to the front space if it is empty. That allows another family to pull in behind you.
  • Remain in your car. It feels natural to get out of the car to help the teacher, but over the past year, we have learned that most children transition best when they move from the car directly to a teacher. If you get out to take them from the car, it adds a transition, as they then have to separate from you. If your child is having difficulty transitioning, be in touch- we are here to help!

Bubble Blast!

Wednesday & Thursday, June 30-July 1
Get ready for a day filled with laughs as we fill the parking lot with bubbles for full body sensory exploration. Imagine a heap of sudsy, refreshing bubbles ready for play! We are using an organic, gluten and soy free foam for this fun experience.

Brightwheel Communication App

We love capturing learning moments from our days at school and sharing them with you. When you are dropping off and picking up in the car line, glimpses of your child's day and information from the teachers becomes even more valuable. One important way we share information with you is through the Brightwheel family app. We sent Brightwheel invites via text or email to all families. Please create your account using either the web or mobile app. If you need an invite resent, or would like us to add grandparents or sitters, please reply to this email with their name, email address, and relationship and we will invite them!

Health Updates

Sick Procedures

If your child is sick with any of the following symptoms, please keep them home and let us know:
  • Fever of 100°F or higher
  • Cough
  • Sore throat
  • Rapid breathing or difficulty breathing
  • Gastrointestinal distress (diarrhea, nausea, vomiting)
To return to TBS children must be 24 hours symptom free with no medications AND cleared by a physician or a negative covid test. If you obtain a covid test at a testing site or pediatrician office, send the results to us at paperwork@tbsneedham.org. If you would like TBS to perform the covid test, please register on our testing calendar and bring your child to the main lobby at your appointment time. TBS covers the costs of these tests for all enrolled children.

Pending Tests Mean Stay Home

If your child or a household member has a pending covid test due to illness or exposure, children may not attend school. Please let us know that your child will be out. They can return when the negative test results are received.

Travel for Household with All Adults Vaccinated

If all adults (and any children over age 10) in your household are vaccinated, you can be added to our approved travel list. Those on the list will no longer need to submit a travel form each time you travel out of state. If you have already submitted your vaccination record, you will be added automatically. To be added to the list, please email your vaccination record to paperwork@tbsneedham.org.

Travel for Household with Unvaccinated Adults or Unvaccinated Children Ages 10+

Complete this form before you travel out of state. TBS Travel Form. Email related paperwork to paperwork@tbsneedham.org or upload it on the form. Current travel requirements and relevant links are listed on the form.

Surveillance Screening Results

This week, we processed 51 PCR tested and 74 antigen tests and all were negative. Our screening included faculty, counselors, children and family members. For antigen tests, you will receive an notification via the Navica app. For PCR tests, you will generally only receive a notification from the testing lab if the result is positive. As we begin the new PCR testing program, we are working to transition as many children as possible from the antigen testing to the PCR testing. We know that the saliva sample may be hard for younger children to produce, so it is likely that those children will remain on the antigen testing program.
