Volunteers are Back in Action!
It has been so wonderful seeing many familiar and new faces in-person again! The energy our volunteers bring to our shelters is unmatchable and our Guests and staff are truly grateful to have our community back again onsite!

We have fully reopened front desk shifts and one-on-one Financial Literacy and Job Coaching classes at both of our locations. We have reopened our onsite meal volunteering at our Sedgwick location. Fullerton is still drop-off only, but please stay tuned for updates of when onsite meal volunteering will reopen at Fullerton.
If you are planning to volunteer onsite, masks are mandatory inside our buildings. Meal groups will be capped at 6 people and volunteers will not be permitted to dine with our Guests at this time. As we continue to monitor the COVID guidelines, we will keep you updated on any protocol changes.

If you'd like to support offsite, you can still do meal drop offs at either location and some classes can be held virtually.

For all opportunity descriptions and sign ups, please visit our volunteer website, Galaxy Digital.

We are looking for volunteers to provide lunches and dinners at both sites. Check out Galaxy Digital for open meals and sign ups!

Thank you to Dom's Kitchen & Market!

LPCS was invited to their grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony earlier this month to kick off a wonderfully fruitful neighborhood partnership. We are incredibly excited to work with this organization and are grateful for their support of our mission, Guests, and the larger community.

Welcome to the neighborhood!

Thank you to Belmont Village Senior Living!

For every tour given of their residence through Father's Day, they donated $50 to us and also provided us with bagged lunches! Thank you for supporting our mission!
LPCS is in need of 2 ovens for our Interim Housing Facilities! We are extremely grateful for used or donated items. If you have an oven you'd like to donate, or have a connection to a group who can donate an oven, please contact us at volunteer@lpcschicago.org.
A Farewell to our Volunteer Manager
Jameela Chaudhry
Hello LPCS Community! It's me, your Volunteer Manager, Jameela Chaudhry. I've been the writer behind these newsletters, the fingers typing behind the numerous emails, the voice on the phone calls, and the face for when it was safe to meet in person. I wanted to personally thank each and every one of you for the tremendous gifts you have given LPCS, whether it was your time, your knowledge, your meals, and everything else in between.

I started this role in March of 2020. Needless to say, nothing has been normal. I spent my time here learning and navigating through one of the most intricate and difficult situations we may ever face together. At every up and down, you were there, unwavering and at the ready to adjust to whatever came next. LPCS thrives because of our community of compassionate, hardworking, and downright lovely volunteers. It has truly been a remarkable experience getting to know you and working alongside you as we strive to better our community around us and help those in need.

With the utmost sincerity, thank you for being the most enjoyable community to work with. Let's continue the good work and unite in making this world a better place.

Beginning June 29, please use volunteer@lpcschicago.org for any volunteer inquiries and continue utilizing Galaxy Digital for current volunteer opportunities and sign ups.
