A Message from Lynda Tilley, Executive Director

I don’t think I would be here right now if I couldn’t talk to people - actually interacting and playing games…Here at Moorelands it’s different from [online] school. I find it really fun.... I started making actual friends. Moorelands has connected more of those people for me.” Lucia, age 12

These are strong words from one of our campers! The COVID-19 pandemic has been tough for most, but its effects are being felt heavily by young people in the many hot spots in our city. We know this past year, COVID’s had a huge impact on their education, well-being and mental health.

That’s why, now, more than ever, kids need Moorelands Camp...  Read Lynda's letter in full.

A Message From the Starry Summer Night Committee:
“Since we can’t send kids to Kawagama this year, Starry Summer Night thought we would bring camp to our community (safely and responsibly) with some entertaining activities that will support the camp.  We have created a fun social opportunity for all our friends on Kawagama and Bear Lakes and hope you can join us for Starry Summer Night Pirate-themed Scavenger Hunt Saturday, August 21, 2021. We also have our traditional auction (online) and supported by many of our local and area businesses. And of course, the 2nd annual Aqua Hug, swimming around Moorelands Island on August 7th.”
