 PHNRC Volunteer Workday 6/27/2021

When:     Sunday, June 27th, 2021.  9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Where:    The Prospect Heights Slough (See map below)
What:      Trail blazing, invasive species management & planting.

It's the first official workday of summer and there is a chance it may be cancelled due to the weather. Hot on the heels of one of the longest droughts I can remember, has been 4-5 inches of rain with more on the way for Sunday. The weather is promising to be 81° with a 50% chance for rain on top of everything else so if the day does need to be cancelled, the notice will go out by 7:30 am on Sunday morning. If you do not get a cancellation email we are on!

Now, being the eternal optimists we are, we will be at the Slough near 105 Hillside. We will be looking to establish a new trail extension over to the peninsula, planting native plugs and managing invasives.
Parking is on the west side of Hillside Ave facing Elmhurst Road, near 105.  Long pants and sleeves are recommended along with sturdy shoes. Lost? Call 847.910.5257.

We will supply water, snacks,  all tools, gloves, instructions and supervision. Please visit our website at
