SUMMER HOLIDAY
SCHOOL CLOSED AT 12.30 ON 30TH JUNE
Dear Parents,
I hope you are all keeping well. It has been a very busy and enjoyable last term in St. Seachnalls N.S. Please see attached our class list below for next year. I will email room numbers for all classes at the end of August. The following teachers will be jobsharing next year:
Ms. Sheils & Ms. Murphy
Ms. Timmons & Ms. Mc Coy
Mr. Maloney & Ms. Jordan
Reports will also be sent out via Aladdin today. It is important to remember that the school closures will have impacted children in various ways over the past year. Standardised scores do not take account of the pandemic. You will receive a separate letter explaining standardised testing.
The Department of Education have granted St. Seachnalls an extra teacher for the next school year as we are currently a Developing School. Next year, St. Seachnall's N.S. will have 3 of each class. Our current two fourth classes will be split into 3 fifth classes. St. Seachnall's will then be at maximum capacity - 3 classes at each level.
Our new building is at the planning stage. Therefore the Department of Education have sanctioned a new prefab, which will be positioned in the yard beside my office (garden area). The new prefab will have one classroom, 2 SET resource rooms and 2 CES resource rooms. As directed by the Department of Education, we will also be using our computer room as a classroom until the new building is ready. Once our new building is complete, all prefabs will be removed and we will no longer need to use our computer room as a classroom.
Warm Regards,
Ms. Whelan
ACTIVE SCHOOL WEEK
Active School Week was a great success this year in St. Seachnalls. The children enjoyed Sports Day, School Walks, Sports Quiz, Irish Dancing, Fun Activities, Jersey Day, Cumann na mBunscol exhibition and best of all the ice-cream van came to visit.
