Dear Baker Food Co-op members,
Beginning July 1, 2021, the Co-op will resume charging 3% for purchases made using a credit or debit card. This is in response to the high cost of credit card fees to the Co-op and was the option chosen by a majority of members who responded during the board elections.

This is not a step the board takes lightly. We simply cannot afford the $7,000 credit card processing fee expense incurred during 2020. That is money best spent replacing our aging equipment and maintaining the store. Many stores raise their prices 3% overall to cover these fees, but the Co-op's policy has always been to keep prices as low as possible. The surcharge is also the fairest option for all members.
