12th Sunday in Ordinary Time- Issue 55

Hello <<First Name>>,

Storms come in all shapes, sizes and guises. Some loud and domineering, some quiet and subtle but each equally disturbing and throw us out of harmony or balance.

Every storm has an eye, where some relief and peace comes, however momentarily.

Let us pay attention to the "eye in our storms" and recognise Jesus as the guiding light in those situations to help us through.

FAITH GATHERINGS

12th Sunday in Ordinary Time

The significance of miracles in the Gospels is that they show Jesus as one who brings God’s power to bear on human need and suffering.
Have there been times when you have been a channel for this healing power of God, holding a crying child in your arms, calming the anxiety of a friend, or being a peacemaker in a group to which you belong?

PRAYER
Lord, the sea is so wide and my boat is so small. Be with me.
(Breton fisherman’s prayer)
Transform all our fear into faith and awe in your saving presence. Amen.
(adapted from reflections on the Gospel by Kieran O’Mahony OSA, www.tarsus.ie )
Tune in to the streaming service before 11:30am Mass to hear the welcome.
The Scripture readings are available daily and for Sunday.

SCHOOLS FOR SYRIA CLOTHING APPEAL
One of our outreach parish projects is in supporting young Syrian Refugees under the guidance of Fr. William Stuart in Lebanon. He will be sending a container of items for young boys and girls to Syria in August. The appeal will be launched in July.
Thank you to those who have come forward. We are still looking for people to join a team of other young people.
This team would coordinate the project with the support of the parish.

Please contact Fr. John on his mobile or through the parish office.
This would be a good will project for teenagers for the summer.
(Small Print: there might even be an occasional pizza on offer!)
See some recent photos below from Fr. Willie in the Syrian Camps in Lebanon, where children are doing spelling lessons, having a well deserved break and proudly showing off a new outfit all the way from Ireland.

Parents Helping Parents
If you know a parent with a child for First Holy Communion or Confirmation or both and who does not receive sacramental communications from the parish, it is likely that at some point, they have unsubscribed from all parish communications (which include the Sacramental updates and resources).

It is necessary for that individual to re-subscribe by using the link here.

Please pass this information onto others. Thank you.

Keeping Parents Updated!
Parents will receive information concerning preferences for the First Holy Communion and Confirmation Sacramental ceremonies either through your school sacramental representative or through a link to a survey which is forthcoming. There has been a slight delay with the latter.
