Regular Registration Ending June 30th!

Family camp is nearing us everyday and we will be happy to come together once again! The Hickory Run State Park has lifted its occupancy restrictions for gathering; thus we are happy to welcome whomever is able to register. Although there has been great uncertainty, confusion, isolation, and fear throughout the past year and some months, it is comforting to know that we can depend upon this community and its traditions. So, it is wonderful to reunite our family and invite new members, as indeed we are family at Family Camp, here to support one another as best we can.

As a reminder, the price of family camp goes up by $25 per person at the end of June. If you have an unpaid balance on your card, we will charge it on June 30th as well.

Those already registered will be receiving an anonymous survey in regards to COVID-19 as this allows us to make an informed decision as to how to maintain the health of camp participants and sustain the quality fun of camp. Campers will also receive a brief COVID-19 screener a few days before camp.

Covid-19 Safety Overview - June Updates

We will adjust these policies based on Pennsylvania or CDC guidelines if anything changes over the summer. As always, please be respectful of one another's safety and boundaries as we seek to have a safe, healthy and joyful experience together.

State Park Official Guidelines

Here are the latest guidelines from Hickory Run State Park’s Website as of June 1:

  • Outdoor programming resumes normal occupancy. (150 people at a time)
  • Indoor programming resumes at 50% occupancy.
  • Visitor center exhibit halls resume normal occupancy.
  • During programming, masking is not required for vaccinated visitors. Masking is required for unvaccinated visitors

Our Family Camp Precautions for Camp

In our best efforts to accommodate our attendees, we will also do the following:
  • We will keep all windows open in all buildings and hold events outside whenever possible.
  • We will have covered outdoor seating available for all meals, rain or shine, using our large tents.
  • Family Camp organizers and attendees will not and should not ask you for proof of vaccination due to medical privacy laws. This means that we are entrusting all vaccinated and unvaccinated attendees to take appropriate precautions to stay healthy and keep everyone around you safe.
  • Since the park guidelines vary widely for vaccinated and unvaccinated attendees, if our anonymous survey indicates a large proportion of attendees in a given program are unvaccinated, we will take additional precautions such as requiring masks indoors to be safe during that program.
  • Family households will be in cabins together. Teenage and Young Adult children may share cabins on a case-by-case basis based on the Park’s guidelines and the Registrar's discretion.
  • We will send out a Covid-19 screener a few days before camp for all attendees
  • If you develop symptoms or believe you might have been exposed, we have 100% free cancellations this year to ensure that you can make the right choice to keep everyone safe.
  • We will have sanitation supplies available throughout all facilities for campers to use.
We will continue to adjust these policies based on Pennsylvania and CDC guidelines if anything changes over the summer. As always, please be respectful of one another's safety and boundaries as we seek to have a safe, healthy and joyful experience together.
