Retour sur la 19^e assemblée générale de la Société Santé en Français

Ottawa, 21 juin 2021 – L’assemblée générale annuelle 2021 de la Société Santé en français s’est déroulée en mode virtuel le jeudi 17 juin 2021. Ce fut notamment l’occasion de renouveler une partie des membres du Conseil d’administration, dont le mandat arrivait à terme, ainsi que d’accueillir de nouveaux membres au sein du conseil.

Plus de 70 personnes déléguées et membres de la SSF ont participé via la plateforme Zoom. Selon la présidente, Mme Anne Leis, « L’année 2020-2021 a été marquée par le contexte de pandémie mondiale, ce qui a poussé la Société Santé en français et les 16 réseaux de santé en français à se réinventer dans un monde virtuel et à trouver de nouvelles avenues pour atteindre leurs objectifs. »

Voici les points saillants de cette assemblée annuelle :

• Les mandats des membres suivants du conseil d’administration sont terminés. Leur engagement sans faille est à souligner et nous les en remercions du fond du cœur :
  • Sébastien Payan – Colombie Britannique (2019-2021)
  • Gisèle Thibodeau – Nouvelle-Écosse (2017-2021)
  • Jalila Jbilou – Nouveau-Brunswick (2016-2021)
  • Sophie Thibodeau – Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador (2013-2021)

• Nous voulons souhaiter la bienvenue aux personnes suivantes qui ont obtenu un mandat de deux ans au conseil d’administration de la SSF :
  • Gisèle Lacroix – Alberta, réélue
  • Lily Crist – Colombie-Britannique, nouvellement élue
  • Raphaël Moore – Nouveau-Brunswick (RAFR), réélu
  • Michel Tassé – Nouveau-Brunswick (RAOS), nouvellement élu
  • Blair Boudreau – Nouvelle-Écosse, nouvellement élu
  • Collin Bourgeois – Ontario-Nord, réélu
  • Abdoulaye Yoh – Saskatchewan, réélu

Vous pouvez consulter le Rapport annuel 2020-2021 qui présente les réalisations du Mouvement en santé au cours de la dernière année. Grâce au leadership et à l’engagement des Réseaux santé partout au pays, des avancées remarquables pour un meilleur accès aux services de santé en français ont été accomplies. Ces résultats démontrent la force du Mouvement Santé en français et sa capacité d'appuyer des changements positifs qui augmentent l'accès à des services, des programmes et des ressources de santé de qualité en français pour les communautés francophones et acadienne en situation minoritaire.

La Société Santé en français est un regroupement national dynamique qui a pour objectif de promouvoir le développement de la santé en français pour les communautés francophones et acadiennes vivant en situation minoritaire au Canada. La Société est le point de rencontre de 16 réseaux régionaux, provinciaux et territoriaux œuvrant à la concertation des partenaires intéressés à améliorer l’accès à des services de santé en français dans toutes les provinces et territoires où le français n’est pas la langue de la majorité de la population. Pour en savoir plus, visitez : www.santefrancais.ca.

Focus on the 19^th Annual General Meeting of the Société Santé en Français

 Ottawa, June 21st, 2021 - The 2021 Annual General Meeting of the Société Santé en français (SSF) took place virtually on Thursday, June 17th, 2021. This was an opportunity to renew some of the members’ term as well as welcome new members to the Board of Directors.

More than 70 delegates and members of the SSF participated to the meeting via Zoom. According to Mrs. Anne Leis, chair of the board, “The 2020-2021 year was clearly impacted by the global pandemic, leading the Société Santé en français and its members, the 16 French health networks to quickly pivot to a virtual world and to find new ways to achieve their goals."

Here are a few of the highlights of the meeting:

• The terms of the following members of the board of directors have ended. We wish to acknowledge each and everyone’s unfailing commitment and to thank them for their important contribution to francophone health:
  • Sébastien Payan – British Columbia (2019-2021)
  • Gisèle Thibodeau – Nova Scotia (2017-2021)
  • Jalila Jbilou – New Brunswick (2016-2021)
  • Sophie Thibodeau – Newfoundland and Labrador (2013-2021)

• We welcome the following individuals who have been elected to a two-year term or are continuing with their current mandate on the SSF Board of Directors:
  • Gisèle Lacroix – Alberta, re-elected
  • Lily Crist – British Columbia, newly elected
  • Raphaël Moore – New Brunswick (RAFR), re-elected
  • Michel Tassé – New Brunswick (RAOS), newly elected

Please consult our 2020-2021 Annual Report (in French), which presents the achievements of the Health Movement over the past year. Thanks to the leadership and commitment of the Francophone Health Networks across the country, considerable advances towards better access to health services in French have been achieved. These positive results demonstrate the strength of the Santé en français Movement and its ability to provide support for meaningful change, which increases access to quality health services, programs and resources in French for Francophone and Acadian communities living in a minority setting.

The Société Santé en Français is a dynamic national organisation that aims to promote the development of health services in French for Francophone and Acadian communities living in minority settings in Canada. The SSF is the meeting point of 16 regional, provincial, and territorial networks working to bring together partners interested in improving access to health services in French in all provinces and territories where French is not the language of much of the population.
