Last chance to watch...
'The Story of Plastic' is a provocative documentary about the impacts of plastic on people and planet and also the powerful interests behind their proliferation. Your eyes will be opened to what's really going on, in this country and overseas.
We have arranged free viewing on Vimeo for Skye Climate Action supporters until July 1st. Stimulated by this film, SCA is joining the international movement, 'Break Free From Plastic'. More on this later.
Two meetings coming up...
Inspiration on wheels
Thursday June 24th, 7.30 - 9pm
Green transport is the way to go, so our next zoom pop-up meeting is for cycling enthusiasts, would-be cyclists and anti-cyclists. We're going to hear from Andy Neison and John White about the practicalities, benefits and challenges of wheeling. There will also be an update on the cycleway project on Skye. Plenty of time for questions, objections, suggestions and general discussion.

Break free from plastic
Thursday 8th July, 7:30 - 9.00 pm
The Story of Plastic film shows how our planet is literally awash with plastic and reveals fossil fuel and petrochemical companies' strategies for increasing the amount of plastic entering our lives.
Our July SCARRR meeting will look at plastic-free alternatives and the opportunities and difficulties of recycling / upcycling waste plastic. There will be an overview of the impact of plastic pollution on climate, and we'll also talk about the Break Free from Plastic movement and potential local actions, such as brand audit and supermarket plastic collection at source.
All welcome: join the discussion or if you prefer, just sit in and listen. You can obtain the zoom link from Anne.
