I don't know about you, but I can hardly believe we are already over halfway through the year! There are still a lot of things happening around Covid, with lockdowns and of course the important messaging around immunisations
For those in lockdown or with restrictions, it could be a really good time to try and abstain from alcohol. As we head into #GoDrythisJuly - moderating your alcohol consumption or even going without it completely can have an enormous impact on your health. You will see noticeable benefits in your sleep, a lift in your mood, as well as a reduction in calories! Of course you will also be “giving” as its a fundraiser for improving the care and wellbeing of those with cancer.
I also want to give you a #HeadsUpOnDiabetes for National Diabetes Week (12th -18th July) which focuses on the mental and emotional impact of those with diabetes. You might not know, but over 1.8 million Australians have diabetes and this is increasingly a risk factor for women.
Finally, a thought provoking article to share from our wonderful collaborators at Women’s Agenda, which shows some latest research indicating that having a female cardiologist may well improve your heart health!
Until next month, enjoy this bulletin and take care.
Best wishes
Linda
