WASHINGTON CONFERENCE HYBRID CAMP MEETING 2021
Sabbath, June 19 | Walk in Love

Happy 1st Sabbath of Hybrid Camp Meeting!

June 19th, also known as Juneteenth, is the date that hundreds of thousands of slaves were finally freed in Texas. Taking place three full years after the Emancipation Proclamation, Juneteenth is largely regarded as the longest-observed African American holiday.

Juneteenth is highly important, not as a political day, but as a day to pause as all of humanity, and remember the gift of freedom in our society and the gift of freedom in Christ.

Praying Forward...For Schools

by Craig Mattson, VP for Education
Growth for New Year – We praise Jesus that Adventist schools in the Washington Conference are growing. Our conference is projecting 8% growth in enrollment overall, and we have been able to hire 4 new teachers to help manage our growing schools.  Praise God! We pray that our schools can continue to be a mission field, bringing families into a closer relationship with Jesus through the daily education of their children. We also pray that our schools will continue to grow not only in numbers, but also in the areas of spiritual health and unity.

Praying Forward...for Church Growth

by Tyler Long, Evangelism & Church Growth Director
Baptize - The book Gospel Workers by church co-founder Ellen White reminds us, “The commission given to the disciples is given also to us….” (page 29). The Great Commission to Go, Teach, and Baptize are marching orders that we follow. As we move forward together, we invite you to pray for the outpouring of God’s Spirit. We want to see our baptism numbers go up!

Moving Forward...Heart Health

Curated by Elida Jerez, Health Ministries Director

Sadly, heart disease is the number one reason for death. Thank goodness for research which shows only 10-20% of one’s genes, not blue jeans, will predispose one to death by heart disease.

Sharon Russell, RN, has quick tips for heart health in this video essay.

60 Seconds of Good Health
Wrap up your day with prayer...whether with your church family, at home, or online. Take a moment to reflect: What did God speak into your heart today?

Read and pray your way through the book of Ephesians or your choice of biblical books about the early church. See what parallels you see between the early church and the church today. What can we learn and do as we walk forward with Jesus, together, toward heaven?
