#StopEverythingAndBreathe

In advance of #WorldWellbeingWeek, we launched our #StopEverythingAndBreathe campaign. Taking a moment to breathe is beneficial for everyone, at every age. It can help to relax your body, and therefore relax your mind.

We are also currently running a competition challenging schools to take a moment to #StopEverythingAndBreathe alongside our breathing bear throughout the week. The class with the most #StopEverythingAndBreathe moments will win stress balls for each pupil. We're also asking pupils to write down emotion words for how they feel before they #StopEverythingAndBreathe, and how they feel afterwards. The class with the most emotion words at the end of the week will win their school a place on our Feeling Good for Schools programme for the next school year; don't miss out! If you want to participate, please get in touch with us at Roisin@fpmh.org.uk.

Do you want to use the breathing bear in your school? No matter the age group, we can provide resources to help promote discussions surrounding emotions for younger children, and a mental health and wellbeing programme and app for older children. DM us or email Roisin@fpmh.org.uk for more info.

Feeling Good for Schools

Curious about what the Feeling Good for Schools programme would look like in your school? Come along to our short webinar next week (Thursday 24th June, 7:30 - 8:15pm) to find out more. Both Primary and Secondary colleagues welcome. Get your FREE tickets here.

As the school-year comes towards a close, you can sign up for the Feeling Good for Schools programme for your school for the incoming school year. If you know someone who would be interested, or would like to sign your school up, please get in touch with us via email at Roisin@fpmh.org.uk.

Listen to a teacher's view on the schools programme here.

We've also teamed up with the Schools Advisory Service to provide free access to our app for all of their members, to provide them with some much needed support, after their incredible hard work and commitment to education over this past year.

University/College Recruitment

The pandemic has amplified discussions surrounding students’ mental health, and the wellbeing difficulties faced in University environments, but we understand that these difficulties existed before the pandemic, and will, unfortunately, likely exist beyond the pandemic. Therefore, we’re looking to collaborate with more universities and colleges to provide our Feeling Good App to their students. If your university or college would be interested in getting involved, or you would like to find out more, please get in touch with us via email at Serena@fpmh.org.uk.

We are looking forward to exhibiting at the student conference ‘Student Mental Health: Responding to the Crisis’, now on the 17th November (unfortunately postponed from the 23rd June due to the extended lockdown). Sign up to attend here.

Blogs

Dr Sheila Ross shared her '5 ways to cope with your mental health during the pandemic' with Sustainably during this year’s #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek. Ahead of #WorldWellbeingWeek, we chose to unpack these tips on our blog to emphasise the links between positive mental health and wellbeing.

Also available on our blog is Ben Jones, who leads the Feeling Good for Schools programme at King’s Leadership Academy in Bolton, telling us about the impact of our programme in his school. Watch his short feedback video here.

Good Thinking

We are Good Thinking’s ‘App of the Month’ this June, and our co-founder Dr. Alastair Dobbin featured on the Healthy London Partnership podcast to talk about the Feeling Good app. Listen here
