Community Clean Up (CCU) events save residents a costly trip to the landfill for oversized items and provide opportunities to conveniently recycle additional materials.

access to the City trucks for oversized black bin and green bin items, electronics recycling, and the Salvation Army donation station
access to the extra recycling services for:
- Tires and wheel rims
- Metal
non-member fee to access the tire and metal cycling

The City does not collect blue bin items at CCUs. If you bring these items they will go to the dump.

Online Membership:
Step one: Fill out the online form then choose a payment option.
Step Two: Choose a payment option.
1) Drop-off or Mail (preferred to minimize our service fees) Drop off your $20 payment in the mailbox at 715 Shawnee Drive SW, Calgary, AB T2Y 1V6. Or send by mail. Cheques preferred.
2) E-transfer - Complete the membership form online and pay by e-transfer to info@shawneeevergreen.ca.
3) Credit Card - One of the above payment options is preferred to avoid service fees to SECA but you may join online at Shawnee-evergreen.ca with a credit card.
Membership Cards New for 2021 we have moved to electronic cards. These have been delayed with our website redevelopment. If you joined SECA this year (after May 1st), we will get a proof of membership out to you in advance of this event. Volunteers will also have a list of current members onsite as a back up.

The City of Calgary requires that residents and volunteers wear MASKS.
- Residents will remain in their vehicles at all times. Volunteers will offload materials.
- Residents will wear masks when interacting with volunteers.
- Volunteers will wear masks.

City trucks will NOT accept the following items:
- Car batteries
- Glass (e.g. window panes, glass table tops)
- Household appliances with Freon (e.g. refrigerators, freezers)
- Microwaves
- Liquids (e.g. cooking oils)
- Large metal items (e.g. lawnmowers, barbeques)
- Railway ties
- Sod or dirt
- Household hazardous waste including propane tanks, paint, cleaning, healthcare, and gardening chemicals

Your nearest Hazardous Waste drop off location is Evergreen Fire Station #37 at 2511 Eversyde Avenue SW.

Volunteers Needed
We are still in need of a 5 volunteers for a variety of roles.
Also needed is someone with a truck to transport our tent, 2 folding chairs and folding table - there and back (8:00 am & 2 pm)

Our volunteers skip the line for drop off of their waste and recyclables at 8:45 AM, before the event opens to the public.
