Read and Share the Costs of Inaction Report
Our new report, co-produced alongside the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and the Medical Society Consortium on Climate & Health,  found that health problems linked to particulate matter pollution from burning fossil fuels have a yearly price tag of $820 billion alone. Ozone pollution caused by burning fuels and increased temperatures, meanwhile, adds roughly $7.9 billion in annual health costs.

These costs are expected to become even more expensive in years to come without a stronger societal response to address this crisis. In fact, this price tag likely vastly underestimates the true total costs of these problems, due to limited available health data. These large and growing financial costs—as well as the major health harms of air pollution and climate change—are often overlooked. Now is the time to recognize how much these linked problems are costing us. Read the full report >>>
