We're Having A Virtual Kitten Shower!

When it rains (and boy has it rained in Austin this month), it purrs .. and it's purred a lot of adorable kittens into Thundering Paws over the last few months! To support the many baby kittens we have in our care, and the many we are still expecting to come, we are throwing ourselves a Virtual Kitten Shower this Saturday, June 26 at 2 p.m.

Our Virtual Shower will include demonstrations, Q&A with our staff, and a raffle contest with amazing prizes! All this fun is to update how kitten season is going for us so far, and raise some much-needed funds to help us get through the season - they're cute but kittens sure do need a lot of medication and food.

So join us for a fun afternoon and register today! And don't forget to vote for Cutest Kitten - the winner will become the legendary face of Thundering Paws. Can't wait to see you all this Saturday!

Trap / Neuter / Vaccinate / Return

TNVR

TNR, Trap/Neuter/Return, is a concept which has undergone many changes in the last several years. The latest change is the addition of a “V”—TNVR, Trap/Neuter/Vaccinate/Return. This is important for many reasons. The public health benefit of vaccinating against rabies is obvious. And because the community of Trap/Neuter/Vaccinate/Return veterinarians and volunteers is providing this public service, we can petition government agencies to support our efforts.

Johnson City, TX is providing funds for some of the expense incurred by Blanco County Cat Coalition (BCCC) in their TNVR program. Years ago, I spoke with a Dripping Springs council member and a city official about Thundering Paws. I will speak with them again specifically about our TNVR program and its benefits to public health and ask for assistance.

After I do speak with the city, I may petition those of you who are Dripping Springs citizens to contact our government representatives and ask them to help Thundering Paws. I will let you know who to contact and what to ask for.

In the meantime, our TNVR program needs donations and drivers. We need people to drive cats to and from a clinic in Boerne, TX, and also to and from a clinic at the PAWS shelter, on HWY. 165 between Henly and Blanco. If you are able to, email info@thunderingpaws.org. Donations can be made through PayPal, our website, our Facebook page, Venmo, and by mail to P.O. 1555, Dripping Springs, TX 78620.
