The PTSO E-Newsletter

What a Year!
In a year when our lives were upside down and nothing felt “normal,” we want to thank our awesome NNHS PTSO and parent/guardian community for pitching in and getting creative to bring people together. While we all felt isolated and “on pause,” we had more than 150 volunteers over the course of the school year working hard to ensure our NNHS community stayed strong. Some examples of what we accomplished:

  • 5 Parent Meet and Greets (and Principal Coffees)
  • Parent Trivia Night
  • Community Building Groups - Movie Club, Wine Club
  • 6 Parent Programs (“Making the Most of Your High School Years,” e.g.)
  • 2 Superintendent Meetings
  • 4 Teacher Appreciation Events
  • 3 Major Fundraisers
  • Support Student Programs/Teacher Grants
  • Prom 2021

All of this took hard work and considerable time, but our dedicated volunteers made it happen and we thank you! As we go into planning for the 2021/2122 school year, please consider getting involved—it is a wonderful way to be a part of our special NNHS parent community, meet new people and have some fun!

We would also like to take this opportunity in our final newsletter of the year to thank Patty McCabe and John Oliver, our outgoing PTSO co-presidents. Their tireless service has been remarkable and we wish them the best in their next endeavors! We would also like to express sincere appreciation to other outgoing PTSO Board members: Johanne Campbell, Ted Vahey, Ed Quintero, Shawna Slack and Sarah Rizzo. You all leave big shoes to fill!

And finally, on behalf of the PTSO Board, we would like to wish you all a wonderful summer (and to those of you who are leaving the North community, we wish you the best!). Look out for a summer mailer and PTSO emails teeing up some of the great activity we are planning for September/October. In the meantime, enjoy some much-needed fun in the sun! We can’t wait to see what 2021/2022 brings!
