Portage Youth Baseball families,
First off as we come to a close of the 2021 season I just want to say thank you for all your patience as we navigate through COVID for hopefully the last year. It was great seeing all the players on the fields, and the families out supporting the young players. There is a lot of work that goes into the program to keep it going while improving it for the players each year.
This year some highlights we were able to accomplish:
- Drastically reduced fees due to the great sponsors of the program, we couldn't do it without them.
- All players will now keep their jerseys, again thanks to our sponsors.
- We improved a few areas at the fields with more to come.
- The older dugouts were repaired and covered to match the other dugouts.
- One batting cage was added in the warmup area.
- The older batting cage on Field 2 was removed and will now be updated and repaired with the season over.
- New cooler in the concession stand thanks to the donation by St. Mary's Church.
- The parking lot was widened and new gravel in some areas, thanks to the city of Portage.
- The Scoreboard was added to field 3 thanks to Culver's for the scoreboard and the city for getting it installed.
The last week of the season is here as much as we hate to say that but with this week the T-Ball and Coach Pitch will end their games. Have a fun last week and leave the kids ready to come back next year.
Majors and Minors we are working on next week for a tournament style last week, we will get the info out very quick if we can have that next week.
